Detroit Model Railroad Club
The Detroit Model Railroad Club is a 2-Rail O scale club located in Holly, MI in an old theatre. The DMRRC has been in operating for 71 years. The club has been in Holly since 1971 and has nearly 4,000 ft. main line track including a double track and single track mainline. The club also has a branchline operation and is installing an On3 narrow gauge section. The club operates open houses eight weekends a year for the public in the late fall and winter. The club tries to recreate railroading during the late 50's during the transistion era. The layout represents a fictional area in Michigan with the main town Dorrance been a mid size county seat.
Located approximately 40 miles northwest of Detroit, the club is easily accessed from Detroit or Flint, MI. The Club has recently changed over to DCC operation and can have as many as seven trains in operation at any one time on the mainline.
The club is always seeking new members. There are several levels of membership from active to associate depending on your interest. All members are welcome at the meetings. Details on membership levels and costs are on the website.
