World's Greatest Hobby on Tour
The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour came to north Texas this past weekend and the boys and I headed over to see it. There was so much to see and do that we ended up spending most of the day over there.
Fortunately, their mother is always thinking ahead and remembered my aching back from the last show. Many of the displays are too high for the boys to see from the ground, so I would end up lifting them up to see the trains passing. Both of them. At the same time. So to save me the complaining and pain, she suggested I take the wagon. WONDERFUL!!! The boys could stand on it to see everything and sit on it when they were tired of walking.
There was plenty of Thomas the Tank Engine to go around. There was an entire section of toy train set out for everyone to play with. When we arrived in the morning, the sets (I am guessing 50 to 100 sets) were separated and still nicely organized. When we came back in the afternoon, many of the sets had merged and morphed in to larger more elaborate configurations. The boys loved these trains, despite the fact that we have the same ones at home. I have learned that Thomas is fun no matter where you are.
After spending most of the day at the show, the boys were worn out and we headed home. But we made sure to stop by Discount Model Trains to pick up some more track for the growing layout It was definitely a fun days for everyone.
