Michigan Model Train Center is currently Washtenaw County's largest model railroad shop, though it's only in Washtenaw County by a matter of feet.
Sharing space with the owner's canoe livery, the model railroad inventory grew until it pushed the canoes completely outdoors. While MMTC stocks merchandise in pretty much all scales, the tinplate (mainly MTH) and HO scale selections stand out, with one of southeast Michigan's largest locomotive and rolling stock selections. Scenery, rolling stock and tools are not neglected, and MMTC carries a full line of Digitrax products in stock.
Hours are 11am-6pm Tuesday through Saturday, though they typically run a bit later during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
